Dear Jim,
I'm on for the Friedman book study, have the book, have begun to
read. Am very pleased I was enticed into the Basevich study, feel I
have a much more factual and intellectual basis for my thinking about
the future and possibility.
I'm assuming from your email that we're not starting this until 14
January rather than Wednesday this week (Phoenix time). Ok with me,
I'll read for further input on how to participate. I did appreciate
the structure you gave to the Bacevich study.
Robert Schafer's thinking is very helpful also. I'm doing regular
skype conversations with many people outside Taiwan, who have greatly
different perspectives, almost none of them except Jack Gilles are
"Old Order." But it would be easy to imagine some kind of New Order
forming, probably best it it's peripheries are never clearly defined.
I'm taking as my guide the Open Space group loosely connected, but
not depending on Harrison Owen. Gail has been working with this
nearly 9 years, and it continues to expand. The relationship between
"OS people" is a lot like the Order.
Thanks for your connectingness, very helpful for all.
Best regards,
Dick
