[Springboard] Harpers' 50th Wedding Anniversary

Happy 1/2 Century Harpers.

 

Having successfully completed your 50 year experiment you are now free to
finalize the covenant.

 

June 11 2009 is our 48th anniversary so we will think about you all day. Our
experiment is not over so any tips you have about the next two years will be
appreciated.

 

We are going for 100. How about you? So far we are on schedule.

50 Years..... 5 Decades..... How do you celebrate the marriage between two
people that has grown and evolved for over half a century?  Where do you
begin?  With their children?  Their extended family?  Their friends and the
numerous people whose lives they have touched?  Or their life-long
relationships with colleagues and co-workers?  Does one start with their
spiritual journey?  Perhaps one could start with their dedication to
challenge "the norm" and the standard perspective of the world.

I wonder if anyone attending the wedding between Gordon and Roxana in 1959
considered what the relationship would look like 25 years down the road -
much less 50.  Did anyone have any idea that this union would see the world,
from the shores of Lake Michigan to the islands of the Far East? 

Please join us on Saturday, July 11, 2009 in Maple Grove, Minnesota (just
outside of Minneapolis) as family and friends celebrate the 50th Wedding
Anniversary of Gordon and Roxana Harper.  Bring only your sense of humor,
your stories, your pictures and your memories, if you can find them!  (No
gifts, please)

Lunch and cake will be provided - we will have a time for games, a Wall of
Wonder, reflection and fun.  Children are welcome and everyone may come and
go as they please.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
