Joe attended Asbury College but I don't think he graduated.  I know he did
do their commencement one year (the host was a bit surprised when Joe
informed him that he had never graduated).  If they gave him an honorary
doctorate it must have been through the seminary since most colleges do not
give honorary doctorates, only universities.

The story regarding Joe's actual doctoral dissertation has always been
somewhat of a mystery.  My understanding was that Joe went to Perkins ABD
[all but dissertation] and either never finished the dissertation or it was
not approve by his committee.

I plan to be in Washington in December.
