Janice,
Caring thoughts come your way as Dan and I, and this whole community,
consider the gift that Abe has been in our lives and how he will be
missed. Though I didn't have the pleasure of knowing either of you very
well in the "old days" I have enjoyed the pleasure of reading your
messages, and of course, the pleasure of reconnecting to so many
colleagues in these "new days" that Abe enabled. Abe was the
Administrator of our connection for these many years and I'm sure,
wherever his spirit now resides, he will be the Administrator of our
communion with the saints - of which he is one. 

I'll say Amen to the Benediction that Carlos so reverently pronounced on
us all. 
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the
fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with Abe and this community as we
celebrate his completed life.

Abe died at noon today at Binghamton General Hospital.  He is a man who
knows that symbol is key, and so his body picked a day that I will
always remember with joy as well as tears:  this is our 39th wedding
anniversary.  A memorial service is being planned, but date and time are
not confirmed yet.
