To Dick Kroeger et al from Lucille Chagnon
I have not been reading a lot lately, but a month or so ago after discovering and devouring Daniel Quinn's autobiography, Providence, I picked up
Ishmael (which I had read several years ago) and re-read it.
As soon as I finished it, I read Quinn's The Story of B, and I am now
skimming My Ishmael because so much of it is a repetition of and expansion
on The Story of B. I'm up to the last chapters and Julie's preparing to go
to Africa.
I'm drawn to it. I'm ambivalent. I'm hooked. I'm looking for dialogue.

And my computer put this unfinished e-mail in my outbox rather than my drafts box. Sorry about that. Eager to hear who else besides Dick Kroeger and me are dialoguing with a very intelligent ape.
