Pat, let me know if you hear. Bonhoeffer's b-in-law was non-clergy and a
main player in the attempt. I would say they both were a part of the
group being memorialized.~john

John,
I was listening to the news in the background last night/this morning
(?) while doing something else - so I wasn't paying much attention. My
ears perked up when I heard mention of the top German cleric
sponsoring/holding some sort of memorial to the group that was executed
60 years ago for attempting to assassinate Hitler. I wondered at the
time if Bonhoeffer was part of that group. The news item seemed to
indicate the group was not a church group. The brief news announcement
did say that the group came the closest to actually assassinating Hitler
than any other attempt. There were no names mentioned except the current
cleric.

Anyone else hear this? And pay closer attention to it?

Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer was executed for his role in an intricate
putsch aimed at assassinating Adolf Hitler that occurred on July 20,
1944.
