Thanks Wayne.  My favorite of Wilbur's books is A Sociable God, which we read in
Tonga in the mid 80's, and which I have always found to be the most helpful in
understanding other people's spiritual journey, to say nothing about my own.
However, I do not experiene that competitive, adversarial, militaristic imagery
has gone the way of the dodo bird just yet.  When you have been confronted at the
door of a home you have been invited to visit by the host asking if you personally
have been saved by Jesus Christ, you realize that that imagery has not gone as far
away as you might hope.  Clare
