My wife and I stood about ten feet from John and Teresa Kerry a
little over a year ago at a state convention here in California as the
Senator gave a talk. She is every bit as spunky in person as she is on TV,
even giving John a verbal nudge or two out of the corner of her mouth.
As for "blowing the donkey" we are buying Kerry/Edwards bumper
stickers in batches of 5,000 and distributing them over central California.
Some of us agree with Diane Feinstein that California is not yet a lock for
Kerry, so we are concentrating our efforts here. If Kerry doesn't carry
California, church is out as far as winning the election. We have
distributed one shipment and have another on order with a waiting list of
folks who want to get them on cars.
Moonine and I debated about buying long-term health insurance this
spring. We decided that this year it is more important to preserve our
nation than to preserve our aging bodies.
They need stuiff in other states also and the Kerry campaign is not
providing it. Some of our stickers are going to Nevada, New Mexico and
Pennsylvania. So, if you want to do something significant, help get buttons
and bumper stickers out there. They work. $500.00 plus shipping for 5,000
stickers. If you want contacts for where to send them I can find those for
you. Or distribute them where you live.
The young folks in Berkley want 500 yard signs to put around the
campus neighborhoods. That is a good area to garner votes (and they ain't
all wild eyed liberals). At $2 a sign that would help get a bunch of votes.
Talking to friends and acquaintances is fine and necessary, but
these are ways of amplifying the voice.
