Closure of the School Of The Americas has been tried. (It has now changed its 
name to something else, but I can't remember what.)  Over Ten thousand people 
demonstrated at Fort Benning in 2002. Several were people we know and are 
close to. One of those, a 68 year old woman from Sarasota, dared to step over the 
demarcation line. She is now serving a three month prison sentence here in FL 
for that act.  Faith Fippinger, our friend and a retired school teacher, also 
went to Iraq before the invasion, as a human shield.  She will also have to 
serve a prison sentence for that; time, place and duration still to be 
announced. We are very privileged to know people like Faith, and colleagues Ken and 
Barb Smith who also protested at Fort Benning. Faith would appreciate your 
thoughts and prayers. She is a dear, lovely and very brave lady.
