[Dialogue] Post Election

My despair is virtually inarticulable. Oh, I know it may not be a word, but
it is the only thing I can come up with and babbling approaches my level of
coherence. Kerry's concession speech was masterful and attitudinally
encouraging; I just choked on my tears. Bush said in his acceptance he
needs us all and then implied that he needed us all to tow his line.

I have frantically been searching the databases in my mind and the closest I
can approach to hopeful is the recalled quote about the winds of change
sometimes blinding us and sometimes brightening the air. (Was that
Gassett?) Right now, the past six months or more of expenditure does not
feel approved because we have failed so gloriously, and the future does not
in any way appear to be open. We must be going through the blinding phase.
