[Dialogue] Post Election

We just received (via email) a gracious letter from John Kerry, because we had
made a contribution. He is very noble in defeat, and very generous with his
thanks and appreciation of all the work done for him.

Ken and Mark both worked for two days on the election - Mark in Golden where he
took people to the polls, and Ken on the phone urging people to vote.

The fact remains that these are peaceful times - how many countries do you think
of that come close to a 50/50 political split and don't collapse into riots,
demonstrations, work stoppages, etc? We bow our heads in sadness or whoop for
joy, and the street lights still work, our telephone bills still come in the
mail, and the power stays on to run our computers! So, I think we are richly
blessed to live here, and I am grateful for these opportunities to be reminded
that our democracy works, and can only hope that the attempts to establish
democracy in other nations will succeed. And there's always 2008!
