Dear Melanie
Congratulations to Christopher. Tell him I am very proud of him.
My accommodation is very basis. One of my colleagues from Timor Aid brought me home one day and asked where I lived at Thrifty. I pointed and he said Oh, a container. That about says it. I believe some hotels are offering long stay prices which are very reasonable so I will look into that eventually. Food? Things I can get at the supermarket like cornflakes, crackers and cheese and so on with occasionally going to a hotel restaurant.
We are both in a bind re the rent. If you dont pay me I wont have money as they will cut my pension on the basis I am receiving it. I have to make a declaration as to my change of income and I have to tell them whether am receiving it not. Is the direct debit in place? It would be better for me if it is as I have to have a steady story fort Centrelink. I really must know for sure what to tell them at Centrelink.
Am still trying to get some things settled. My luggage does not get to me until tomorrow so your sarong is still caught up at Customs. Will try to get more newsy when some of the problems sorted and I know what I am going to be doing here. I think I will have to buy a phone set up for here.
Robin will have to do something about his teeth. Let me know something definite about the state of the rent business and I will see what I can do.
Please tell him I must know about incoming bills, especially Westpac Visa which I want to pay off. I have to know this and fix up these things before I can tell Centrelink about what I have. If I sound a bit up-tight I apologise. I probably will be until all these worries are behind me.
Love
Carol.
Well, it is the next day now, and something has come upstruck with the computer setting so I didn't get the above away. The chap who set it up before now cant remember what he did. An Air North guy living here said he might be able to find someone to help me but he is hard to catch and I dont know what to do at the moment. It is has been a series of disasters so far.
I did buy a phone from Telecom. My number is 7268370. Area code is 670. Nobody in businesses try to be helpful. I am still struggling with it.
The luggage however arrived today and was delivered. They made a mistake in Perkins Darwin. Didn't send the three items together but had some in different containers and Customs had trouble getting all the right paperwork together. I feel as if I haven't got anywhere yet.
There will be lots of emails when I finally get connected again. Probably some answers from you guys which I urgently need. I hope so.
Rob, could you please give me urgently an address from your telephone bill for Telstra. I have to get them to stop charging me the monthly plan on the other phone.
Also, with all the troubles I have been having with computer I have lost the copy you sent of my rental property statement. Could you please send again urgently. I have to send it to Centrelink. It is now the next day again and I still not have got any help with the problem. Still trying.
