Dear Del et al,

These thoughts isn't original with me, but I read that when Lyndon Johnson 
signed the Civil Rights legislation, he predicted that the party would lose the 
south.  He was right.

Blacks and Latinos (and many whites) voted against gay marriage and abortion, 
as well as against their own economic interests.
