From Wisconsin, definitely a swing state. We're been travelling in
Northern Wisconsin over the past two days. Overheard today in a small
coffee shop Merrill, Wi a couple of women discussing the election. One said
to the other she was definitely not going to vote for Bush this time
around. She didn't like being lied to. She told of hearing a nurse friend
of hers who has treated returning vets. The seriousness of the injuries is
horrible. One returning injured soldier ,when asked about the situation in
Iraq said it is much worse that we're being told and many of the service
men and women just want to come home. The change of heart of this woman is
hopeful. Perhaps people are listening. The are tons of "This is Bush/Cheney
Country" on the edges of the cornfields and it seems like Bush or Cheney
are in the state every two minutes.
