[Dialogue] White Man & Taxes

WHITE MAN 
   An old Indian Chief sat in his hut on the reservation, smoking a ceremonial pipe and eyeing two U.S.  government officials 
sent to interview him. 
   "Chief Two Eagles", asked one official, "You have observed the white man for 90 years.  You've seen his 
   wars and his material wealth.   You've seen his progress, and the damage he's done." 

   The chief nodded in agreement. 

   The official continued, "Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?" 

   The chief stared at the government officials for over a minute and then calmly replied ...... "When white man 
   found the land, Indians were running it.    No taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, women did all the 
   work, medicine man free, Indian man spent all day hunting and fishing. 

   Then the chief leaned back and smiled, "Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that."

     COMMENTS: Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was the most prosperous in the world, 
had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. 
 What the hell happened?

The Lantern 
Deep in the back woods of Tennessee, a redneck's wife went into labor in the middle of the night, and the doctor was called out to assist in the delivery. Since there was no electricity, the doctor handed the father-to-be a lantern and said, "Here. You hold this high so I can see what I am doing." 
Soon, a baby boy was brought into the world. "Whoa there," said the doctor, "Don't be in such a rush to put that lantern down. I think there's another one coming." Sure enough, within minutes he had delivered a baby girl. 
"Hold that lantern up, don't set it down, there's another one!"said the doctor. Within a few minutes he had delivered a third baby. "Don't put down that lantern, it seems there's yet another one coming!"cried the doctor. 
The redneck scratched his head in bewilderment and asked the doctor, "You reckon it might be the light that's attractin' 'em?"
