[Dialogue] For Brian and Jeanette Stanfield

Priscilla, I know Jeanette is receiving messages via the listserve. The
email I use for her is  <jstanfield at icacan.ca>. 

I've just returned from Adelaide where I got to visit Brian several times.
Limited swallowing ability (among other complications)is/has been the
dominant condition being attended to. This, I understand, is the impact of
brain function deterioration that has been occurring over some time. ECG and
MRI tests are being conducted, the results of which will be known shortly. 

On Sunday morning Jeanette asked if the group of Brian Robins, Elaine
Richmond, Frank Bremner and I visiting Brian would do a "blessing". This was
to be the start of something similar every few hours. We read poetry and
scripture and sang songs, including the Fifth City love song. I interpreted
Brian's facial reactions to all this as his way of indicating to all of us
he understood his situation and appreciated the ritual and intentionality
being brought to this time.

This is one of many ways in which Jeanette is demonstrating being the
deepest well-spring of humaness I've ever witnessed - emotion,
intentionality, care, sensitivity, celebration, lucidity, nowness and
several others I'm not able to name just yet. 

Since I've now returned to Melbourne, for updates it'll help if Brian Robins
(bgrobins at picknowl.com.au) was subscribed to the ICA/OE listserves.
