Dear Cynthia,

There's a community on the outskirts of Arroyo Grande, California, called 
Halcyon.   It was/is an intentional community.  There is a small "temple" meeting 
house there, and a little store that sells pagan/new age-type things.  I 
really don't know a lot about it.  We went to hear a Chumash Indian storyteller 
speak there one night, and to a craft fair on the grounds.  It has a delicious 
feel about it.  I thought I halcyon had to do with an idealized past, kind of 
like "the good old days."  Thank you for giving the real meaning.
