FEAST on LOVE.
FAST from apparent darkness;
FEAST on the REALITY OF LIFE.
FAST from thoughts of illness;
FEAST on the HEALING POWER OF GOD.
FAST from words that pollute;
FEAST on PHRASES THAT PURIFY.
FAST from discontent;
FEAST on GRATITUDE.
FAST from anger;
FEAST on PATIENCE.
FAST from pessimism;
FEAST on OPTIMISM.
FAST from worry;
FEAST on DIVINE ORDER.
FAST from complaining;
FEAST on APPRECIATION.
FAST from negatives;
FEAST on POSITIVES.
FAST from unrelenting pressures;
FEAST on UNCEASING PRAYER.

Sorry about the two other sorry posts. Here is what I was trying to send.
Our church used this litany a couple of years ago during lent to focus our
fasting:
Fast from pessimism; feast on optimism.
Fast from criticism; feast on praise.
Fast from self-pity; feast on joy.
Fast from bitterness; feast on forgiveness.
Fast from gossip; feast on silence.
Fast from jealousy; feast on love.
Fast from discouragement; feast on hope.
Fast from complaining; feast on appreciation.
Fast from selfishness; feast on service.
Fast from fear; feast on faith.
Fast from anger; feast on patience.
Fast from self-concern; feast on compassion.
Fast from discontent; feast on gratitude.
Peace,
Michael

I'm anticipating doing some fasting. I have intuitions about why I
want to do it and what I'm doing. I would like to find as much
background information as possible so that I can better interpret to
those who inquire about what I'm doing and why I'm doing it.
I will be doing a search for written info/background. This is part of
the search!
Can anyone refer me to resource info on the practices and purposes of
fasting? Perhaps we even have some Order material. If so I have long
since lost track of it.
