Today, Bending History, the treasure of JWMathews' work, arrived as Muriel
and I were departing for Minnesota for a one meal reunion with three of her
brothers and five of their mates. Today I read from Bishop Jim's Forward as
Ken, Muriel's bro who is my age, was driving us east on I-90. He was
surprisingly interested to learn something of this stranger who we were with
for the last seven years of Joe's amazing journey. We needed this printed
resource at least 30 years ago...may he rest in peace [if he can, looking at
our confused and confusing world, and the unwillingness of the
self-conscious church to take a meaningful stand in this world].
Doris Hahn you were entirely on target to voice our appreciation to "Jim,
John and John, George and George, and Betty for the work [they] have done"
for all of us, thereby releasing it to a hurting world.
From Iowa, Bob Griffin
Note re: my e-mail practices. I typically do NOT respond to the whole
DIALOGUE. I rather find it helpful for me to send my message directly to
the one initiating the DIALOGUE. However, in this very special case, I feel
one half to 2/3 of you on the DIALOGUE will soon be responding to what we
are finding within these precious pages. RAG
