[Dialogue] A powerful commentary from Howard Zinn

I would like to know how others feel about the role of the local congregaton (not the broader church bodies)in changing hearts and minds concerning the role of our nation in bringing forth justice in this world.

I find a great reluctance in my local church to preach about or organize around any activity that in any way challenges the establishment.

It is fine to offer direction on how one lives his/her individual life, yet it seems that great movements in history (including the one Jesus' death initiated) have taken organizational positions of leadership in advocating justice.

What has been your experience?
