Well done Mitta for her work in India. I tried backchannelling her to share
her experiences, but I see she has now posted this to the group. I'd be very
pleased to communicate with Mitta personally.
I also worked in the Tamil Nadu area of South India with survivors of the
tsunami. I worked in the region just south of Chennai, and further south in
the Nagapattinam District. I worked with survivors and also with local
village volunteers (counsellors), to help them with their personal issues. I
did some training of volunteers. The volunteers I worked with (who acted as
my translators) were fantastic - very talented, very helpful and totally
committed. I intend to go back in May and do some more work.
If you're interested in reading more about my work (and seeing a few
pictures), go to my website and click on Asian tsunami.
