I remember his focused intentionality, discipline, and passion - and his
boardwork!

The image that flashes into my head every time I hear his name is the one of
Vance, the Pedagoge, at the blackboard (that was a long time ago, back in
the 60's) with 4 different colors of chalk stuck between the fingers of one
hand while illustrating some point or another. The finished product was
amazing. I've forgotten the exact point but will always remember the image.

God blesses us all.

Pat

Subject: [Dialogue] Death of Vance Englemn

Dear Colleagues:

Marie Sharp just called to let us know that Vance Engleman died last

night around 10 pm. The blood disease he has been suffering from for
some time finally overtook him. His former wife, Beth, will be
arranging a funeral service and his cremated remains will be sent to be
buried in Texas. We have no other information on how to send your
condolences. When we do we will let you know.

Bill and Barbara Alerding
