The Art of Intuitive Facilitation
with David Baum and Kathy Karn
April 19 - 23, 2006
Winona, Minnesota
In any group there is what we see, and what we don't see. There is
what we design, and what happens. Good facilitators know this. But
great facilitators find ways of collaborating with their intuition
and spontaneity to promote both the group and individual process.
While it may look like magic in the hands of the skilled, there are
principles that can be learned and practices that provide the
foundation for effective facilitation work.
This uniquely personal and experiential training is based on the
understanding that we learn best through good modeling and practice.
Using experiential process work Kathy and David teach skills and
theory to hone your knowledge as a leader, increase your awareness of
group dynamics and deepen your intuitive talents.
This workshop is for those who wish to understand groups, strengthen
their leadership skills, and seek ways to increase their own
influence with others. The workshop allows ample time to discover how
one works in a group, builds safety, enhances teamwork, and increases
effectiveness both personally and professionally.
This fun, lively, hands on workshop focuses on the following:
Facilitation skills and practice: bringing more confidence to your
own unique style
Resistance reduction: dealing with "stuck" spots, i.e. those times
when a group isn't engaged or is resistant
Creative problem solving: acting from your own intuitive resources
based on inspiration, awareness and inner trust
Observation: tracking group dynamics energetically and non-linearly
Team motivation: strengthening and building a sense of community
Power of the unseen: Bringing ceremony, art, music and/or ritual
into group process
Opportunities for personal re-evaluation and goal setting are central
to this program; past participants tell us this workshop element is
key to providing leaders with tools for growth and action.
Who should come? Leaders, Facilitators, Educators, Therapists.
Virginia Satir once said, "There are a thousand ways to wash the
dishes." We say there are a thousand ways to develop and utilize
your own intuitive wisdom to enhance your leadership style and deepen
self awareness. We hope you will join us for this exciting work.
