Stocks, do investigate Spong's recent book, THE SINS OF SCRIPTURE.  Our FREE 
THINKERS class is responding well to a study of its provacative sections.  
AND, the one on just how the Bible  got written and when and by whom, for whom, 
etc. is, in my judgement, one of the very best.   The RESCUING THE BIBLE FROM 
FUNDAMENTALISM, also has been one I ask people to read and talk with me about,
