Apples don't grow in the mideast -- the new consensus is that they were  
mangos.  If you look at much of the art depicting Adam and Eve, you'll see  a long 
(3-4inch vine) with the mango at the end.  
 
Cynthia (having 3 mango trees in my yard -- such a temptation!!!
