Hi All:
After reading Wayne Nelson's witness on El Bayad, I decided to put
together a brief presentation on the Fifth City model for human
development projects for a group that I am a member of. Working on some
pictures, I realized that much has happened to Fifth City over the more
than 40 years in being. Compared to the outstanding beauty of Fifth
City in the 70's and early 80's, the area today is full of destroyed
buildings and shows very little of the promise it held then. Yet the
preschool is still operating as one of the few programs that exists and
has many successes.
My questions are:
1. What have been some of the major accomplishments of the Fifth City Model?
2. What is the total number of projects started around the world?
3. What factors are necessary sustain the momentum of these projects?
4. Are the 5 basic presuppositions still workable?
5. What other questions should be asked and answered about the HDPs?
