Harry,
This is absolutely on target in my view. As someone who has expended my career (as distinct from my vocation) as a geoscientist, it makes me ill to see this happen. Even worse, a few years ago, a group letter was circulating on the net signed by hundreds of earth scientists decrying any problem with global warming. The sickening thing is that nearly all of them worked for major oil companies, and I knew a lot of them, had worked and collaborated with some of them, even taught classes to some of them! I know in my heart that nearly all of them knew there was something valid in the climate change theory, but they could not resist the pressure of their employers to engage in some egregious cognitive dissonance where global warming was concerned.
My view is that the Enterprise Institute (European or otherwise), the Cato Institute and many of the other "institutes" out there funding by the extreme rightist establishment should rename themselves the more appropriately as the crypto-Nazi institutes they truly are, and cease from spreading these lies.
Grace and Peace,
Steve Rhea
