Speaking of turkeys.

When Bob and I were on our way to Korea, from Hong Kong, we were asked to
delay our arrival and go to Taiwan. So we did and spent Thanksgiving down in
Guongjou, or some town with a similar name -- and visited with Basil and Marie
Sharp and their three young kids. They were Methodist missionaries at that
tinme.

Since it was Thanksgiving time, Basil announced that we were having turkey.
And when I asked where he was going to get the turkey, he announced that it
was already in the garage or yard, I can't remember. So I looked and saw a
huge handsome white turkey prancing around. I asked, who is going to kill it
and Basil said he was. He seemed quite cheery and nonchalant about the whole
thing -- I guess he had had a lot of experience doing this thing, back where
he grew up in West Virginia.

I don't remember who plucked it -- I suspect he did also did this part.
Nevertheless we had a wonderful and most memorable Thanksgiving in with the
Sharps in Taiwan!
