Jann,
Thank you so much for Bono's Prayer Breakfast speech. He really found the
words to respect the office of the powers-that-be and motivate them with their
own "beliefs" (my cynicism always wants to take over) while challenging past
decisions to the max with a credible 1% solution. What a work of art. It was
worth the long read--keep 'em coming.
Richard and I went to downtown Wilmington to hear Jim Wallis when he was here
in the Fall with God's Politics: What the Left Forgot & the Right Doesn't Know (or something like that). The Presbyterian Church was full. I had an e-mail subscription
Sojourners for a couple of years. Good stuff, especially Jim's pieces up front.
We recently ordered, from Amazon, three copies (to share) of The Left Hand of God: Taking Back Our Country from the Religious Right by Rabbi Michael Lerner, Tikkun magazine. There is a movement (I forgot from whom) to pre-order before imminent publication so that it will hit the best seller list high enough to be at bookstores' front door displays.
Hope you and Fred are in good health.
Lucille Chagnon
