Terry, thank you for your investigative follow-up on the story that
Harry shared on the listserve. Many sides to every story. How many
human interest situations happen every day that are happily resolved?
It would have taken extra effort by all parties involved in this saga
to avoid the controversy. The outcome, though, was an example of
separation of human from human.
I wonder what the take would be of the spiritual elder from the Dakota
nation on hearing the university's side. I think she still would have
received the other world name of Good Eagle Woman, but I think she may
have had to spend more time in the sweat lodge as penance.
And thank you, Harry, for continually sharing the results of your vast
investigative efforts! When we read your findings, we must imagine
ourselves as part of an electronic artform conversation, hoping that
the very best questions get raised around the 'puters.
