Great work, Jan !!!!! It occurs to me there is normally a rebuttal after the state of the union . . .
Given your questions earlier, would it be possible for each to send in
3 points from the state of the union where the President was most on target
3 points from your own conversation that the leadership of our country (of both parties) need to hear and act on in the coming year

This message will make no sense unless you've read the previous State of the Union-State of our Values message. I'm pondering a suggestion for the organizers about harvesting some quotes, some statements about priorities or values, from all these gatherings, to share with participants across the country and with the media. From the conference call, these fairly young, very dedicated and bright, young people welcome suggestions. They are far from clueless, yet don't have the skills you do, colleagues. They've worked so hard on getting things organized that they haven't thought of getting something from these gatherings. I can make a stab at it - but feel better calling on you for suggestions. Gotta be simple. What 2 (or so) things would you have these varied-skilled group conveners do, in addition to asking the questions given in the last message, in order to harvest something to increase the impact of the events? How would you phrase these suggestions? Quotes, etc.
could certainly be shared on the Sojourners web site.
