STANFIELD, R BRIAN

The legend of your diminutive stature preceded you - stories of religious 
and cultural studies lectures delivered standing on a chair.  But you were 
certainly not one of Randy Newman's "short people".

Then I finally met you and Jeanette in Chicago.  Then you were part of the 
"Edges" publishing team in Canada.

Than came a short-term visit to Australia, and a long-term "retirement".  
Your spiritual stature was not diminutive - as revealed in your inspiring - 
in the best sense of the word - books.

And what an inspiring way to go into "that good night" - you hung on for 
every possible bit of life.

Sadly, farewell, mate.  (I always enjoyed the "See ya, mate" farewell.)  And 
thank yoiu.
