We have proposed forming a study and action group concerning Supporting our
Seniors, but so far, no one has volunteered. I hope we can activate this
group. Dave Thomas

Does your organization recognize the work being done in support of
independent living for persons with disabilities as well? I hope so.

I find the Rock Ridge Institute's promises quite inadequate. They ruin the
miracle value of any proposals concerning values by making promises before
they have a product. They indicate an ahistorical approach which ignores
the long and successful struggles that liberals have led based upon values
which have defined them for several centuries. The following is an outline
which I will use in a 5 minute presentation to a large audience tomorrow
night. It clearly indicates our liberal values, our struggles and their
contemporary application.
------------------

                                    Lake Hills Liberals

Our Liberal Values

Values consistent since John Lock published Treatise on
Government in 1890

            As Liberals, we believe:

All members of our American community should have the
same freedoms and opportunities.

We each have the responsibility to protect the freedoms
and opportunities of all other Americans.
We and our government should be competent and
compassionate,
helping those who have fewer freedoms and
opportunities than the rest of us.
Our United States should be a cooperative member of our
worlds community of nations.
Good Values arent Enough. We Must Act to Realize Our Values.

Our Historically Victorious Struggles against Conservative Opposition

Colonialism, slavery, trust-busting, labor & consumer
protection, womens rights

Safety net (social security), poverty, legal discrimination
against blacks,

Environmental protection, unjustified war, equal rights gays &
lesbians,

now for legal rights (freedoms and opportunities) for immigrants

We support extending freedoms and opportunities for all

We oppose Bush and Republican Deception, Incompetence, and
Corruption

Our Group

            Began 8 months ago in mid-October 2006

450 members, half in Lake Hills, half throughout Puget Sound

I believe a national network of liberal neighborhood groups can counter the
network of Christian Conservatives with churches near virtually every
precinct. Dave Thomas
