Dear Colleagues,

Recently I received and email from John Slicker about an upcoming trip to 
India.  I asked him how his parents are as I hadn't heard anything for a 
long time.  This is what he replied and I thought all of you would like to 
know what he said.

.......My parents are living in an assisted living retirement home in 
Dallas.   Joe is still going strong   though he has slowed down 
considerably.   (He'll be 86 this year).   Anne has been dealing with 
Parkinson's Disease for 7 or 8 years now, and she has some dementia which is 
not uncommon with Parkinson's.   Since she broke her hip over a year ago she 
has been struggling to stay with it.   She now has a feeding tube in her 
stomach as she cannot really swallow which is part of the Parkinson's 
deteriorization.   Dad is totally devoted to her care though he hasn't been 
able to care for her by himself for 2 or 3 years now.   We all just try to 
give her lots of love and make her as comfortable as possible.

One of the great pleasures for Dad is to hear from colleagues from the 
Order.   If you feel so inclined please drop him a line or email as he would
