[Dialogue] Thanks for the good stuff

Thanks for the report, Dick. It may not matter if one conference came off. It is important news if a group that's open, pretty comprehensive, celebrative, & working passionately to bring religious traditions' wisdom to society's contradictions, seems to be hitting a nerve in society. (As with the movie The Sting - I remember we talked about how people in that movie came on board with just a slight signal - when we were working on Town Meetings.)

I just checked out the conference report at the site you suggested:
http://www.nspmn.org/program.pdf
Awesome diversity of panelists and sponsors. As they sparked 600 serious participants, it must have been quite an event. The interesting reading list strikes me as being not very theologically theoretical, but rather tilts toward exploring what it means when theological understandings engage society's realities. This includes the spirit realities of people who care.

Congratulations.

We are having a debriefing dinner this weekend, and our monthly meeting in December will focus on next steps.

One of the miracles was the diversity of the co-sponsors and the presenters.

I think the idea of a network, rather than a controlling body, may be the key to our search for the appropriate social vehicle. I think that confessing that we do not have all (or even many) of the answers may set us apart form other groups and political parties and religious dogmatists.

Thre are many dialogs going on. Check out all the action nationally at www.spiritualprogressives.org.

    Dick,

Very, very interesting. Will we have access to some sort of proceedings?
