Bob and I applied for the Gore training.  We were not chosen in the  first 
round and didn't apply for round 2 (didn't fit with our schedule)  

After reading the newsletter of that site, I found out that many  
decision-makers and persons of influence were chosen for the first two  rounds (more than 
2000 applied!)  For instance, the assistant County  Manager of a county in 
Washington was chosen, attended, and now has been doing  presentations 
throughout that state.

Also, now, I believe that they are not going to do any more training.   They 
have switched strategies.  They are encouraging people to purchase the  DVD 
(or I think they will send you one free, if you commit to two  presentations), 
and hold meetings.  I believe that in December, they chose  ONE date and 
encouraged people to hold meetings then; I believe they did an  internet link up at 
that time.  Yeah a new MOVEMENT!!

Our county has a major taskforce preparing for global change (since 2000);  
they are already expecting and looking for ways to stall salt water intrusion  
into our water systems and other things -- looking ahead 40 years.  In  
Broward county, 11 cities have now signed the Kyoto protocol.  I thought of  working 
on this in Miami-Dade County, but decided that the County was leading  the

Last night on  PBS Bob saw "The Last Days on Earth"  According to it -- if  
Greenland melts, the seas will go up 20 feet; if Antartica melts, it'll go up  
another 20 feet.  (These are the most extreme consequences acc.  to their 
alogarithms) (sp?). Either way, say good bye to the polar bears and all  the 
penquins on Planet Earth.  No more HappyFeet.
