Florida would cease to exist. Since this is true, there are some Floridians
(Audubon members and others) who see Florida as the "canary in the mine" ---
and feel that Florida should put pressure on Congress and industry to make
changes fast, and they are working on it.
Florida was totally underwater several times. During the periods of the
great ice ages, much of the water was tied up in to ice -- then Florida extended
way out into the Gulf. The sea level was approx. 450 feet below the present
level. "Florida" was huge.
Then, when it warmed the ice melted and Florida was under water (approx 300
million years ago) As a result, Bob can find vertebrate fossil remains of
whales and sharks in the rivers; he finds remains of camels and saber tooth
tigers in the ocean.

the seas will go up 20 feet; if Antartica melts, it'll
go up another 20 feet. (These are the most extreme
consequences acc. to their alogarithms) (sp?). Either
way, say good bye to the polar bears and all the
penquins on Planet Earth. No more HappyFeet.

If the seas go up 20 to 40 feet, what would happen to
Florida?
