I am aware that Jean Long, Nancy Trask and David Dunn have come to Chicago
to view the physical situation of the archives since October 16th.

Marge Philbrook until her firing kept the active search going when people
would call or email various requests for the materials. She also has the
database files they developed in preparation for the Golden Pathways. The
database contains the name, location and date of every file in the
cabinets.

Nancy met with both Marge and Betty. Nancy should comment on her
reflections. Jean is interested particularly in the music.

*I have had a question about the ownership of the archives.* Certainly the
current Board of Directors has possession but does that mean ownerhsip?

Until 1973 there was no ICA, So does the Ecumencial Institute legally own
the Foundational Curriculum, the summer Research Programs, Imagainal
Education, the Academy, etc?? In today's "Intellectual property" legal
environment there are some clarifying definitions. Does the Order
Ecumenical (now legally closed) have any claim to the body of work?

In recent years, with Learning Basket and TOP, the staff worked hard to
protect them for the ICA:USA. Lawyers advised the ICA as to how to set up
the trademarks and copyrights etc.

I witnessed one Board discussion when George McBurney and David Wood were
still on the Board, George's quote was something like *"Hell! Something
like RSI, we ought to be giving away because we want to change history".*

Clearly putting everything into an electronic format and housing it in a
public institution where it could be assessible would serve to make them
available to everyone.
