I have a lot of sympathy for the views of Christopher Hitchens and 
other atheists. But I don't recognize the target of his ire as any 
religion I have participated in. He appears to completely ignorant of 
the twentieth century theological revolution or the possibility of 
nontheistic conceptions of God.

He paints a strawman of a naive theism, and then says "I don't 
believe that - it's a poison". Very strange.
