      Placing culture at the center of human development
      Dear Friends and Colleagues, 

      The global ICA network took a big step toward the future this month, as operations got underway in Montréal. Some highlights:

      Secretary General Lambert Okrah participates in the United Nations Forum on Forests and makes a statement on behalf of ICA International, which advocates for the rights of forest-dependent peoples. 

      Concept papers developed for the two main arenas of ICA International’s mandate: Capacity Building and Global Policy.

      New websites created for all ICAs previously without their own sites, including Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Guatemala, Uganda, and Zambia. India, Kenya, Tajikistan, Togo, and Zimbabwe are coming soon. 

      President F. Nelson Stover and Secretary General Lambert Okrah join the ICA USA Think Tank meeting in Chicago. 

      Centralized tracking and information exchange system for ICA donor institution relationships goes online. Members can log in to start searching and send feedback. 

            April Network Exchange published.

            Revised Membership Handbook and Guidelines for Forming a New Member Organization drafts reviewed by the Board and Membership Task Force. 

            Participation in the weekly Global Buzz, as well as reporting between Board and staff teams, continues to keep us all in conversation. 

            Installation of all major office infrastructure completed.

            You can take action to advocate for and actualize the fundamental right of all peoples to define and shape their own futures, toward the goal of realizing sustainable, just solutions to human challenges. Join the network! 

            Give of your time by volunteering in one of our priority areas.

            Get involved locally by getting in touch with your national ICA and asking how you can help.

            Give of your resources with a contribution – online, by mail, or via wire transfer. An annual gift of CAN$150 qualifies you as an individual member, enabling you to receive our publications, as well as participate in local, regional, and international events. 

            Give a gift to someone else by honouring an important person or milestone, or memorialising someone no longer with us, through a gift to ICA International. A notification of your thoughtful gift will be sent to the person(s) you designate.
