Subject: [Dialogue] Draft of consensus paper

Dear Colleagues,
I have pulled together the debriefings on the consensus process you shared
on the list serves. So far I have 25 pages of materials.

Present Table of contents:

1 Decision making and the Consensus Process

2 Signs of "Real" Consensus

3 Complexities in Consensus Process
   a. Consensus-buy in-Resistance
   b. Tension of Tradition and Participation
   c. Process Traps
   d. Diverse individual learning and processing styles

4 Reflections and Questions about Consensus Process

5 Successful Examples of working with building consensus

This draft is too long to put on the list serve at this point. If you wish
a copy, tell me and
I will send it directly to your email. I am also hoping that some of you
may want to take this
paper and add points or examples. I have not written an introduction.
Someone may want
to work on that as well. In my mind this is a corporate paper many of us
are writing to be used
as we wish.

Cheers from Down Under where we have a hot election campaign going on for
prime minister.
One candidate, Kevin Rudd, counts Dietrich Bonhoeffer as an important
theologian in his life.

Take care,

Jeanette Stanfield
