Dear All, I had the privilege of working with John Rupert in Kenya when we were about building a village leaders movement across the country. John Rupert was our point man in doing set-up for new villages. He was fearless and had an amazing discipline to his life. I am in the midst of reading the book Gandhi written by Gandhi's grandson. John Rupert comes to mind when I think of Gandhi. The same trusting of local people, their energy and insightfulness. A great man! Dick

Colleagues --
Just a brief note at the moment. We'll want to pause for a moment to
celebrate the completion of a wondrous life, that of John Rupert
Barnes, who died yesterday in Kenya. I just had word of it from
daughter Elena.
Ah, the stories we'll tell . . . .
Gordon
