[Dialogue] Brooke Tippett wins the Golden Apple Award

Dear Tippett family,

Congratulations to Brooke and the family for this prestigious honor!

To Brooke:   As a fellow music teacher, I know that it is usually the math,
science, language arts or some other teacher who receives such recognition
in our very test-driven school culture.  That makes this award so very, very
special.  You must be the "greatest" (as we used to say in the order)
educator to have engendered so much support from the community and school
and administration.  We all know how important music is to everyone as
research supports.  Yet we music educators struggle to keep our curricula,
our classes and our jobs in today's schools.  My sincere congratulations to
you for I know how hard you work to make your program happen.  "You are the
greatest!"

Have a restful and inspiration-filled summer.

  Dear friends and Colleagues:

  We are bursting with pride for our daughter Brooke, who won the Chicago
Golden Apple award in May.  The ceremony will be in September, so we will
get a chance to be there to see her honored !   What a thrill to have the
Mayor of Chicago visit her at at her school presenting her with a basket of
apples with a golden apple on top !

  We have to believe that some of the Order life, particularly the Imaginal
Education, etc. rubbed off on her, even though she often refers to when she
was in "The Cult"
