Subject: [Dialogue] A Repository Update
Colleagues --
The OE/EI/ICA Repository just passed its second birthday, and it seemed that a brief accounting was in order.
First, thanks to all of you who have visited the site since its launch in June, 2006, to all of you who have also taken the time to create your personal page and register on it (about 140 as of now) and to those of you who have either written things for it or found treasures from our past that you chose to upload and share with our wider community.
Here are links to a few things that have you've shared over the last few months, in case some of us may have missed them. Each quite different, yet taken together, they suggest something of the wide range of our common life --
a.. The most recent: Nan Grow's paper on The Ritual Process of the Order: Ecumenical. Nan asked for help in getting it up, and Len Hockley kindly offered to do the scanning and uploading. I believe Nan submitted this as a paper in her master's program at Chicago Theological Seminary in 1982:

b.. Rod Rippel's adaptation of The Journey to the East, as a way to tell his personal story of life in the Order. A piece that I find profoundly moving:

c.. The many tributes and stories you submitted on the occasion of the completed life of our colleague, John Rupert Barnes. Thanks to Linda Barnes for organizing this page and a reminder that this is something that any of us can initiate when it's appropriated:

d.. A thoughtful posting by one of us who grew up in the Order as a member of the Emerging Generation. I'm grateful to Reinard Knutsen for sharing his experiences and reflections in what he titles, My Life in Cults. I hope we see more contributions from the younger members of our community:
http://twiki.wedgeblade.net/bin/view.cgi/Main/EmergingGenerationStructures
e.. Finally, a passing of the baton on one of our newest corporate efforts, the Springboard Venture. The Repository helped launch this project, which has now grown to the point of having its own fine website. To track the inception, history and development of this venture, you can find the declaration, along with the working group reports from the four Springboard gatherings that have occurred in a little over the past year here, along with a link to the new website:

Tim, Len and I continue to work on the Repository and are glad to help any who feel you'd like a hand at getting items up on it. We're still excited about its possibilities, especially finding ways to make it easier for all of you to add things to it on your own. Tim has been at work on a Twiki software upgrade, and we are looking at a redesign of our opening page in the near future to make navigating the site and using its tools more friendly.
We welcome your thoughts, critiques and suggestions (and especially your contributions!).
On behalf of this modest effort toward creating a self selecting virtual archive of our community's life and work --
Gordon
