[Dialogue] Adventures with the Obama campaign

Our old dog pees on the carpet and we can't get the smell out, so today a couple of guys from a carpet company came to give an estimate what it would take to deal with that before we have more company.  At the moment Connie Reemtsma is staying with us while Tom gets over surgery.
 
We got into a very good conversation about the election and what it meant, especially about having Obama for President and also reelecting Sheriff Joe Arpaio (pink underwear, green baloney, tents for prisoners in the summer here).  It was hard to get started but a very good conversation -- this gets to your email, Carlos.
 
Until there is some way to get us into conversation across divides with all the shakiness of starting, etc.  We'll still be at the mercy of our fears and relative isolation, won't we?
