>From Doris Hahn.   My South African friend forwarded (to me) this message from a friend of hers in Johanesburg. So, I share it with you:


I did not believe that I would see a black American president in my lifetime. I really was worried but how extraordinary. The world I think has heaved a sigh of relief. We can be proud of America again.
 
I listened to it (Obama's speech) too! So impressive. He is another Nelson Mandela. I feel he has moved above divisive power politics to true leadership. In fact if you had listened to the radio stations here in JHB today you would have been amazed. I think the world suddenly feels that there is a true leader in America. People feel galvanised by his spirit. Finally a real world leader is emerging out of America. There is so much goodwill towards him and America right now. Given the feelings of people during the last 8 years it’s a sea change.
