There is no suitable reply to this message. I read it with disbelieve and great shock. I don't remember when Vic and I first met Dick sometime before the Cannon Ball Consult. I have felt his presence over the years in one way or another, most lately through this list. My prayers are with Amelia and her family in these very difficult times. There are 3 songs that come to mind, "Those who wait on the Lord" "For all the Saints" and one I here the melody for but have a hard time remembering the words, .. the seeds that were sown ;; We sung it at Vic's memorial.
I, we, celebrate the gift of Dick's life and the completion of it. He will be greatly missed and long remembered.
Grace is yours
and Peace

Dick Kroeger Has Died
One of my best friends, Dick Kroeger had a fatal heart attack while bird hunting. He and his wife Amelia were priors at the Seattle Ecumenical Institute/Institute of Cultural Affairs Religious House when I interned there in 1976. He gave the best witnesses I have ever heard, testifying to an experience and what it informs us about our broader world. He was a spirit giant.
Dick had many passions: loving his wife for more than 30 years and his three sons, his work with liability insurance, driving a school bus, bird hunting, training hunting dogs, tending to their several acres which included Amelia’s marvelous vegetable and flower gardens, involvement in the Episcopal church, the Network of Spiritual Progressives (led by Rabbi Michael Lerner) and the Barack Obama campaign.
Amelia now faces the incompatible pulls of remembering their experiences together, of responding to immediate tasks, and building a life based upon her new life as a widow. She is resilient and will thrive, albeit with much pain for awhile. My love and best wishes are with her. Dave Thomas_______________________________________________
