[Dialogue] Obama campaign

Re: [Dialogue] Obama campaignColorado is considered a "swing state" , or battleground state with either Republicans or Democrats having a chance to win. Probably you'll see more TV ads there than in clearly Republican or Democratic states. In "blue" Democratic New York I haven't noticed many ads - but don't watch a lot of TV. Issue ads are really good! I just wrote a letter to the editor of our local paper, got a phone call today that they will publish it - and a friend also is submitting a guest viewpoint. Sometimes we get copies of ads on-line, from the candidates' web pages or groups like MoveOn.

I appreciated all the comments, and am glad so many of us are finding ways to get involved.

  Dear Karen,
I am glad TV spots on issues are happening. I just sent a note to the Obama
Campaign making the recommendation Jim made about laying out the key
Change points of Obama-Biden plan in TV spots.

I suggest that others send their suggestions to the campaign as well.

  Take care,

I was pleased to see Obama start what I hope is a series of TV spots on the issues.

The moment that Gov. Palin was nominated as the Republican Vice President candidate, the serious and pressing issues of this campaign got forgotten in the hoopla. Gov. Palin seemingly succeeded where Senator Clinton did not. So its big news. The media and I will admit, the Internet rumor mill, have fed the passions of all of us no matter what flavor our politics are. Much of the media have said "It's all about Palin". Perhaps it is in a way. She represents a very clear ideology. So, all of you in your wisdom, how do we get back to discussing the issues? In 8 years, the US government has gone from no deficit to billions, we are in a never ending war, we have in the last quarter lost 60,000 jobs, are banks are failing, and we have not come up with any long range solutions for our energy crunch, I don't even want to think about trade deficits and money that we have borrowed from other countries to run our war.
       Peace
