Happy New Year to you Colleen and to everyone,
We're well into the New Year here in Australia as it's already 6pm on NY
Day.
Better watch that 'community organiser' label -- those people sometimes get
ideas and go places!

Subject: [Dialogue] Happy new year
In my little corner of the world, it is 12:39 am Jan. 1, 2009. I am
remembering past years when OE houses around the globe would call the house
in the next time zone and thus pass the greeting, the word around the globe.
This does the same thing in a way. The timing is off, ( after a mimosa and
two margaritas, I am not about to calculate what time, day it is in Taiwan
or the Philippines or Malaysia.
Sufficient to say, "Happy New year to you all, where ever you might live,
whatever time zone you might be in.
Many of you know that I live in senior housing in Moab, Utah, USA. In my
small community of Rockridge, I have been labeled "community organizer".
This is a ramble to tell about our New Years Eve party. We range in age
from 62 to 93. We all stayed up past midnight. We all loudly blew horns to
frighten away the evil spirits and to awaken the new.
What amazed me, is the comment that one of the women made in her toast to
2009.
"2008 was a very tough year. It was also very exciting. All of it, both
good and bad is now history. 2009 is a totally new thing, open to all kinds
of possibility. The future is ours."
So, in this year of 2009 CE, I wish you all a happy new year! And with
Novela, the past is approved, and given up to history, the future is wide
open.
Grace and Peace
Colleen Smith
