[Dialogue] The Inauguration

Carlos,

Elsa and I, and our youngest daughter Maya, were there. We watched the swearing-in from the foot of the Washington Monument (there were two jumbotrons to give us a clearer view). The feeling was indescribable, but there are only FOUR words that drove home the message: "LO IMPOSIBLE ES POSIBLE". We'll just have to see whether the "Deed" can really be reduplicated.

Amen
to most responses. It is late and I am on the road so somebody can fill in the
real words, but it had to do with appealing to our better nature as opposed to
the gotcha mentality. (I noticed some gulps at the assurances we will overcome
these awesome obstacles which reinforces the fact that he is not naïve) Finally,
the network that many of us participated in through the election process may be
the critical weapon to blunt the all government is bad misinterpretation of bipartisan
cooperation.

What struck me:

"We are willing to extend a hand we will extend a hand if you are willing
to unclench your fist."

"We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has
come to set aside childish things."

indeed, to the decider himself (...) There will always be the dark and tangled
stretches in the decision-making process - mysterious even to those who may be
